It’s a good question. I do believe that cryptocurrency in the form of NFT can be a great way to exchange valuable ideas for payment without revealing the idea to all bidders. This is important, as you would struggle to sell if everyone knew what it was, unless of course you had global intellectual property protection. Of course the idea has to be a good one, workable and fill a need. And yes there is the potential for anybody to sell any old idea this way.
But for me selling an idea or concept as an NFT is a good idea, because I don’t have the funds or the time to fully develop my idea. After fully thinking it through I realised that even if I could code it to a decent level, I would need a hell of a lot of tester accounts to properly put it through its paces. This is something I can’t achieve on my own.
Investors on the other hand spend huge amounts developing ideas before they even get to the refining stage. This idea is ready to go, straight to the team, on their desk in the morning. I am providing the details of how it will work, a flow chart of the algorithm, use cases, back story and some marketing and ad ideas. Along with any previous design ideas and all written work. Also, I will be providing my personal contact details and will happily sign over any intellectual property.
Ok, I suppose I could have done it myself, but I want to spend more time on my music projects. There are so many things I would like to achieve that I’m spreading myself too thin. Selling this app would help me fund and focus on my other projects.
The funny thing is that if my app had already existed I could have found the people needed to actually make it and then use it to find the right people for my music projects. Catch 22.
This is a risk for anyone to take. I’m pretty much unknown in the world. So would you swap cold hard cash for something that is a risk? Whereas in this situation the risk is equally on me. Swap a great idea for something that could be worth considerably less in a few days. This way offsets the risk factor for the purchaser. They get something that can gain value for something that may continue to lose value.
